The surface of an object to be chrome plated would have to be a type of surface that could accept the chrome plating; that is to say, a metallic surface that could except the electro-plating process. It is not possible to chrome plate things like purses, shoes, ceramics, wood furniture, etc.
Are you sure the rotors are chrome. If they are chrome plated, the plating WILL wear off. They may be made of a Chrome Moly steel.....which is typical for rotors because of it's strength.
