They were fictional characters that were added to a real event to add some adventure, drama, and plot line to the movie. Many events portrayed in the movie have no evidence of them actually happening in the actually sinking of the titanic. I don't think Rose Clavert the Titanic survivour really existed because i couldn't find any information on her.

Depends on what you're talking about. There is plenty of real footage of the real Titanic from two miles below the Surface. But any sequence of the ship actually sinking is fake.
