No. The camera had only been invented about 30 years before the civil war and film hadn't been invented yet. To take a picture in this time a chemical was put on a glass plate or a piece of tin. It was exposed to light and a negative was imprinted on the plate/tin. From this a picture was made. Today, very few of the glass plates can be found because they were recylced into greenhouses and windows. The sun faded the pictures that were on them. The Civil War was the first photographed war in history and many people had their views changed by seeing the pictures of the battlefields and people.

Whatever they were shooting had to stand still or it wouldn't be a clear picture. That is why there was very few pictures of battles that occurred during the Civil War.
