Is this a specific case or incident? Grave digging happens all over the world in all cultures...mostly done by criminals and outlaws. It doesnt happen all that often that I know of in modern times in western nations because the standard of living in western nations has risen quite a lot. Maybe it would be more a third world problem these days. Grave digging (desecration of graves) usually carries heavy penalties in western society. Who would want to dig up a corpse, six feet down, to steal anything that might be in a coffin? A grave robber would need a backhoe machine and a small brain to even begin the work.
The act of digging a grave to be eventually occupied by a deceased's casket is not illegal. The acts of Grave Robbing(self-explanatory) and Grave Desecration (destruction and disturbing a grave) are criminal offenses.
Digging the Grave was created on 1995-02-28.
