This is something of a trick question. obviously different dogs were employed in the Lassie television program for different types of stunts- Fighting off larger animals and the more traditional pet roles were logically tasked to different dogs- there is a whale of a difference between a defensive Lassie fighting with another animal- and Lassie in a humanitarian rescue scene involving, say Forest fires ( all too common) or somebody stuck in a well or pit or other hazard. As the (Lassie) used a standard breed, a Collie- it was comparatively easy to use different dogs for differfent types of stunts. as regards other canines as characters- this was done only a few times with, for example, the somewhat cantankerous ( Jeepers) a pet of some neighboring farmer or merchant. an unusual- but not animal aspect of the program was the lead human character, Timmie, had no close friends or repeating juvenile characters his own age- though it was understood ( Dog watching the clock as it arched towards 3 PM) he went to school.
the dogs name is bill in reality, but, in the movie, they switched the name to lassie because the dog got that part.
yes Lassie was played by 6 different dogs and they were all males.
Lassie is one example
Over the course of the character of Lassie's long standing decades in film, over seven types of collie bred dogs have played the role of Lassie since 1943. She was originally played by a collie named in Pal in 1943 and Pal played Lassie from six films all the way up until 1950. Pal's descendants continue to play Lassie in current and future interpretations of the Lassie character.
While it has been noted that all the dogs that played Lassie were, in fact, male dogs, no surgery was involved, nor can we know if any of the male dogs really, really wanted to be female dogs and should be considered pre-ops. So the answer is "No".
Yes
Lassie, DJ, Maxie, Oscar и Trix :)
Lassie, the fictional character, made her first appearance in a short story called "Lassie Come-Home" published in 1938. However, the character was originally created by Eric Knight in 1938, so you can say that Lassie was "born" in that year.
You have to leave Lassie outside because dogs aren't allowed in this restaurant.
They have five dogs (Lassie, Maxie, Trixie, DJ and Oscar).
All nine Lassies have been male dogs. Although in the movies and on television, Lassie was cast as a female dog. All of the Lassies were descendants of Pal, the first Lassie, who died in 1958. Since then the Lassies have been (in order): Lassie Jr., Spook, Baby, Mire, Hey Hey, Boy, The Old Man and Howard, the current Lassie.
The breed was collie. The collie that played the role of Lassie in the first seven MGM films starring 'Lassie' was Pal. In due course, other Lassie films and a TV series was made, and most of the Lassies were descendents of the original Pal.Their names include Boy, Howard, Hey Hey IIand Rockie (Lassie 10).There were also one or two non-Pal 'Lassies', one of which was called Mason.Of course, in all the films and broadcasts, the credits always said that Lassie was played by 'Lassie'!For more information, see Related links below.
