By definition: 1 : a unified body of individuals: such as. a : the people with common interests living in a particular area broadly : the area itself the problems of a large community.

So for a group of people to be considered a "community" the members of that group will share common interests and experiences. Otherwise a group of people would simply be a mob of people with no particular group interest or characteristic.

Notice that a community need not be found in a single region. For example, a group of people might belong to the scientific community and be physically spread all across the globe. But they all have science as their common interest, which makes them a community.

Like any density, population density is the number of something per unit. If people make up the population, then the population density is the number of people per area, like square miles. Might also be number of people per city block. People population per area has a variety of useful units.

What does density-dependent limiting factors mean?

Density-dependent limiting factors are factors that limit the growth of a population based on the population density. These factors become more impactful as population density increases, such as competition for resources, predation, and disease transmission. They help regulate population size by exerting stronger effects when the population is large and resources are scarce.
