About the Exam
Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TN-TET) was conducted by Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board. Aspiring candidates who are willing to pursue their professional in teaching field can go though the guidelines and can apply in the official websites. Aspirants who qualify the exam will be considered eligible for primary and upper primary level teachers in Tamil Nadu State Board School. The exam validity for the TNTET exam is 7 years.
Syllabus
TNTET comprises of two papers:
Paper 1- Comprises of 5 sections: Tamil, English, Mathematics, Environmental Science (science, social science), Child Development and Pedagogy (Age group 6-11). Paper 1 syllabus is a comprised subject from class 1 to 5. The structure of Tier 1 paper is, it contains 150 questions with time duration of 5 hrs. One mark will be given for every correct answer and there are no negative marks.
Language 1(Tamil) - 30 objective type 1 mark questions from Tamil grammar, prose and poem
Language 2(English) - 30 objective type 1 mark question from English grammar, prose and poem
Child Development and Pedagogy- 30 objective type questions from child profile, child social and emotional profile, Physical, Child Social and Emotional Profile, Physical and Intellectual Development, Social and Emotional development for 6-11 years of Age group, Moral Development in Child, concepts and constructs and factors contributing to learning.
Environmental Studies- 30 objective type questions from Animal and plants, Birds, Day and Night, Small creatures around the children, Air, Water, My Body, Man, Matter and materials, work, science in everyday, soil and keeping healthy and clean.
Mathematics- 30 objective type questions from Numbers, Shades and Figures, Measurements, Data Study, Patterns and Fractional Numbers.
Educational Qualification
Paper 1
Higher secondary with at least 50% of marks and passed or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma of Elementary Education
Higher secondary with at least 45% of marks and passed or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma of Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE
Higher secondary with at least 50% of marks and passed or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma of Elementary Education 4 year bachelor degree
Higher secondary with at least 50% of marks and passed or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma of Elementary Education (special education)
Graduation and passing or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma of Elementary (Special Education)
Graduation with at least 50% of marks and passed or appearing for the final examination of bachelor in education.
Age limit:
Age limit must be 18-42 years. Age relaxation applicable for the reserved categories
