Digital pocket scales are commonly used for business, shipping, cooking, and more. You should calibrate your scale every 4-5 times you use it, to make sure you get accurate readings. You can calibrate your digital pocket scale by cleaning it and following the calibration steps with weights, coins, or household items.
Items that weigh around 500 grams include a medium-sized apple, a small can of soda, or a bar of chocolate. These can be used to calibrate a digital scale by placing them on the scale and adjusting the settings accordingly.

To calibrate your gram scales, you can use calibration weights that are specifically designed for this purpose, typically available in various denominations. If you don't have access to these, you can also use common household items with known weights, such as coins (e.g., a quarter weighs about 5.67 grams) or small bags of sugar or flour. Ensure that the calibration weight is close to the scale's maximum capacity for the best accuracy. Always perform calibration at the same temperature and on a stable surface for consistent results.

I had the same problem, but figured it out. Here's how: Turn the scale on, and make sure it is reading in grams (a small "g" will show in the upper right corner). Push and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds. The screen should read "CAL". Ppush and release the MODE button once, CAL will flash once, then the screen should flash the display "100.0" (with the "g" in the corner still). Now simply place 100 grams of something on the scale. After a second or two the screen should display a "PASS". Your scale is now calibrated. NOTE: A nickle (5 cent piece) weighs 5 grams. I use twenty nickles to calibrate my scale.
