1957
No. Serial numbers were not required until 1968 on rifles. Most have a Sears model number that is mistaken for a serial number
with the serial number that you supplied, your Winchester model 55 was made in the year 1930.Winchester model 55 rifles had there own serial numbers, and also were serial numbered in the model 1894 rifles serial numbers.Yours is the later which was serial numbered in the model 1894 serial number range.Yours was one of only 1,535 model 55 rifles made in 1930.
It depends on the model, but usually it is right on the barrel or the receiver. If it is really old it may not have a serial number. For a time Benjamin and Sheridan did not serialise their rifles.
Benjamin made several different rifles. Please state the model number (It's most likely on the barrel) and the condition of the rifle to get an estimate of value. Is it still working? Is it in Excellent, Very good, Good, Fair or Poor condition? Unfortunately the serial number doesn't help, I need the model number
With the serial number that you have provided, your Winchester model 1906 rifle was made in the year 1924.They produced 13,562 rifles that year of this model.
Probably not. That model dates back to 1933. Until the 1968 Gun Control Act, rifles and shotguns were not required to HAVE a serial number. Guns- including ,22 target rifles, shotguns, etc, purchased by the US Military had them added. It is legal to own a gun that has never had a serial number. It is VERY illegal to remove one. Most of the Mossberg rifles in my collection from the 30s, 40s and 50s never had a serial number. Winchester DID serially number large caliber rifles, such as the Model 94.
The Winchester model 55 rifles were some one of the few rifles made by Winchest er to have serial numbers of their own,and also have them listed with the model 1894 rifle production serial numbers.Yours happens to be one of the rifles made that lists its serial number in the model 1894 range of numbers. With the serial number that you have provided, your Winchester model 55 rifle was made in the year 1928.The Winchester model 55 was made from 1926-1936,with a total production of only 20,592 rifles made.I hope this helps eliminate any confusion on this model of Winchester rifle.
It was made between 1968 to 1986. It is a .22 caliber rifle. If you want the owners manual for this rifle see the link below. Crosman owns and makes Benjamin and Sheridan rifles.
With the serial number that you provided, your winchester model 1894 rifle was one of the first 10 rifles made by winchester in 1922.
With the serial number that you have supplied, your Smith-corona model 1903A3 was made in the year 1943.these rifles were only made in the years 1943-1944.If your rifle has a letter C prefix to the serial number, then this indicates that remington also made a model 1903A3 with the same serial number. These were the only 2 manufactures of the 1903A3 rifles.
Model 64 serial number 1169333 was manufactured in March of 1938. All Model 64 Rifles & Carbines were serial numbered withing the Model 94 sequence.
Manufactured before 1968. No serial number was required. Many of Winchester mass produced .22 rifles did not have one.
