His three most famous pieces would probably be the Brandenburg Concertos, toccata and fugue and Air on a g string amongst others.
The three B's of Classical music are Bach, Brahms and Beethoven.
Beethoven, Brahms and Bach (in the order of who is the best...) ;)
Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musical genius. Some of Bach's well known pieces are "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" "Toccatta and and Fugue in D Minor" as well as his variations of Preludes, Fugues, and Fantasia series.
Bach was into numerology, so he used the numbers from his name (2 1 3 8) as motifs in many of his pieces. The addition of these numbers, 14, would also be important to him.
I bought 0 pieces of music in the last 3 months but i think other people bought music.
Music composed for and played on the organ was extremely popular during the lifetime of J.S. Bach (which I assume is the Bach being referred to). Master Bach had 20 children. 10 died in infancy and 3 went on to become composers/musicians themselves. None quite equalled Papa Bach, but Carl Philipp Emanuel (CPE Bach) didn't fall too far from the tree.
Johann Sebastian Bach, composer of the Baroque Era - Born - 21st March, 1685 in Eisenach, Germany Died - 28th July, 1750 in Leipzig, Germany Some of his major works include - 6 Brandenburg concertos, 4 Orchestral suites, 7 Harpsichord concertos, 3 Violin concertos, over 200 Cantatas. Genres - Sacred music for the German Protestant liturgy especially cantatas, instrumental and keyboard music. JS Bach began composing at the age of 17 (in 1702) and composed prolifically until he began decomposing in 1750. Ironically, during his lifetime, he was more highly regarded for his organ playing than his compositions. JS Bach had lost his sight by the time he died.

"Air on the G String" was an adaptation of an Air written by Johann Sebastian Bach in the early 1700s. The Air was from Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major.

Many of these cantatas were written for inclusion in the weekly worship services. In Bach's day, a typical church service could last for 3 or 4 hours. The cantatas were presented usually after the sermon and had a duration of about 30 minutes.
