1. when Satan successfully tempted Eve to eat the fruit that grew on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, so called because it gave any who ate it's fruit the ability to tell the difference between what is right and what is not.
2. when Satan found the most righteous man in the world, Job, and prompted events which took away all his possessions from him, including his health, to try to get Job to curse God. Satan failed.
3.when Satan tempted Jesus with various things (namely: power, food to satisfy intense hunger [as well as using his power selfishly to obtain it], and testing God's promises,) and trying to get him to sin, which would have an unimaginable negative effect on all the universe. Satan also failed here.
