John 19:16-42 contains an account of Jesus' death.

Matthew 28:1-10 speaks of his resurrection to earth:"...He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him...And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them..."(John 20:11-18)(Romans 14:9)(1 Corinthians 15:4) (John 12:23-24)

There were a number of scriptures that prophesied Jesus' resurrection after death

(Isaiah 53:10)(Matthew 16:21)(John 2:22)(Acts 2:27)(1 Corinthians 15:4)(Psalm 16:10) And then, after 40 days, to heaven at: (Acts 1:6-11)

Where are the two shortest verses in the bible found?

The shortest verse in the Bible is John 11:35:"Jesus wept." The context of this verse is when jesus hears that his friend Lazarus has died and he visits the grave. We are told then that Jesus wept as he saw the tomb. However, jesus then performed one of his greatest miracles in raising Lazarus to life even though he had been dead on the tomb for three days and had begun to decompose. The second shortest verse is 1 Chronicles 1:25 "Eber, Peleg, Reu." This tells of part of the family of Adam from Seth to Abraham. Reu was the great, great grandfather of Abraham.

Did Joseph father of Jesus die before of after the crucifixation of Jesus?

Before. The Bible mentions his father when describing the early life of Jesus but it does not mention his father during the time after the start of Jesus's ministry. Hmm. I can't say now if there is a scripture that says his father died but it does mention his Mother and brothers so it may be assumed he was dead. I'm sure there is a verse somewhere.

What made Jesus sad?

I'd figure Judas. The shortest verse in the entire Bible is "Jesus wept." He was weeping when they told him Lazaraus had died. But He commanded and Lazarus rose from the dead. So Jesus was not weeping for the loss of his friend but for the fact that Adam & Eve sinned and brought Death (disease, pain, toil, heartache) to all mankind.
