That"s a mystery In the story ( which everybody calls Scrooge-after the lead character) the story concludes with something of a songfest and a reformed Scrooge, among oithers, the Cratchett family, etc- are engaged in joyous singing of Christmas Carols- from which the title is ultimately derived. Popular usage has it one of the the more UK-oriented songs- such as Deck the Halls, or God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen may have been the tune involved- others substitute the very popular and ( all ages) Silent Night. It really is not mentioned in the tale.
