You need at least 5 Gcse passes, possibly 7 for dentistry. The grades of these GCSE's also need to be A-C in some universityies in other universities they will expect you to have at leat 6 A/A*'s in your GCSE. These are: sciences (mainly Biology and chemistry). You will also need to have got at least a C, possibly a B, in maths and English. You also need to do A Levels, which normally have to be passed AAA or AAB. Also a great source for your to look at is Dr Alka's book on becoming a dentist. That will help you get there

Answer5 GCSE passes including maths, English and science. Some universities will expect 6+A/A*'s. It all depends on how competitive it is to get in.

It is worth redoing GCSE's in your first A level year if you haven't got the grades you need. Get Dr Alka's Book too, as you also need other things beside good grades

3 A Levels (inc. 2 sciences - must have Chemistry and Biology) at grades AAA-AAB
