The Pueblo Indians lived in pueblos. Pueblos are mud covered brick or stone buildings. There where ladders to climb to the next level (stairs weren't invented). If you ever go to Arizona, you may see some abandoned or wrecked pueblos
Well, some missions were built near the Indians so they could bring them to Christianity. The Indians lived sometimes next to the mission.

The Kumeyaay tribe lived there. maps of tribe locations very depending on what time. Also many tribes have joined together. When the Spanish colonized California the gave the tribes spanish names. The Kumeyaay might be under Diquenio.
