The Mongols were a nomadic people who created a vast empire in the 13th century.
Trade and travel increased in the empire because the Mongols constructed extensive highway systems. :)<3
Often referred to as Pax Mongolia, it was a time during the reign of the Mongols in which their entire empire which stretched from Eastern Europe to China remained in a state of peace. Ideas and products could be easily transferred from one part of the world to another. A traveler could go from one end of the empire to another and not have to worry about being attacked. This is due in part to the fact that the Mongols did not tolerate crime in their empire and would kill just about anyone for just about anything.
The Portuguese traveler who visited the Vijayanagar Kingdom was Domingo Paes. He arrived in the kingdom in the early 16th century and documented his observations in detail, providing valuable insights into the culture, architecture, and society of the time. His accounts, along with those of other travelers like Fernao Nunes, have been instrumental in understanding the history and grandeur of the Vijayanagar Empire.
