The word "conquer" denotes the absolute defeat of something or someone [bringing something or someone into complete subjection, obedience and under one's authority]. Strangely, the King James Version of The Bible doesn't use such an "inspired" word in connection with what Christ has done.

Other versions of the Bible say "conquered;" where the KJV says "subdued."

"Then, when He has conquered all things, the Son will present Himself to God [the Father], so that God, who gave His Son Authority over all things, will be utterly Supreme over everything [the universe]. (I Cor.15:28 NLT New Living Translation)

Same verse - KJV: "And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him [God the Father] that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all."

It needs to be noted, however, that regardless of which translation, this passage is FUTURE tense... not PRESENT. In other words... IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET! The Father and His Son are "still working on the ultimate conclusion to their plan."

"Then, WHEN He has conquered... the Son WILLpresent Himself to God...". (NLT)

"And WHEN all things SHALL BE subdued... then SHALL the Son also...". (KJV)

This "stepped" or "phased" plan of God is still in process... with the defeat of DEATH being the LAST THING Christ will subdue and conquer:

"The Last Enemy that SHALL BE destroyed is DEATH." (verse 26 - KJV)

"And the Last Enemy TO BE destroyed is DEATH." (NLT)

Jesus Christ has "overcome" the world:

"...the time is coming - in fact, it is already here - when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving Me alone. Yet I AM not alone because the Father is with Me. I have told you all this so that you may HAVE PEACE IN ME. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But TAKE HEART, because I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD." (John 16:32-33 NLT)

The struggle to be "re-born" is still going on for the servants of Christ because "death" still exists on earth. Christ is no longer "subject" to death because He has been resurrected from the "first death" by His Father... and is now Immortal [incapable of dying again].

But, until He returns... He is now the only man who possesses such Power. The rest of the world will have to wait for that FUTURE event to occur, before He SHALL HAVE CONQUERED the Last Enemy, Death:

"...the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead. He has become THE FIRST OF A GREAT HARVEST of those who WILL BE raised to Life again. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, Adam, now the Resurrection From The Dead HAS BEGUN [not completed, yet] through another man, Christ. Everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam, the First Man. But all who are related to Christ, the other [or Second] man, WILL BE given New Life. But there is an Order to this Resurrection: Christ was raised FIRST, THEN WHEN CHRIST COMES BACK [in the future], all His people WILL BE raised. AFTER THAT the end [of God's plan] WILL come..." (I Cor.15:20-24 NLT)

Jesus Christ has defeated [conquered?] death on a personal level. But death still rules on planet earth for His creation... and He still has to conquer death for everyone. The final phase of His Father's plan, called Judgment Day:

"And DEATH and the grave were thrown into the Lake of Fire. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH - the Lake of Fire. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the Lake of Fire." (Rev.20:14-15 NLT)

We're informed by the Bible that this will occur a thousand years AFTER CHRIST RETURNS. A thousand years AFTER Jesus' servants are resurrected [Immortal - incapable of dying again] at His return:

"...They came to Life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. This is the FIRST RESURRECTION [as I Corinthians 15 says; when Christ returns]. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) For them the Second Death holds no power, but they will be Priests of God [the Father] and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6 NLT)

Jesus has "conquered" death -- His own death. But He and His Father still have much work to do for their creation. And that is to "conquer" it completely on planet earth; the place where they have restricted "sin" [disobedience to His Commandments - I John 3-4] until the trial of Satan and his angels, who have been imprisoned for originating sin, comes up on the LORD's docket on Judgment Day.

"I must remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them chained in prisons of darkness [cast down to the earth - Rev.12:7-9], waiting for the Day of Judgment." (Jude 1:6 NLT)

Christ has "begun" the defeat of death... beginning with His own, through His Obedience to His Father's commands. But He still has much work to do; He and those Obedient servants of His whom He and His Father have been training to help Him when He returns.

Jesus Christ had overcome death, through resurrection. This is significant that all those who die will raise just like Him.

Shouldn't the name Jesus Christ be Jesus the Christ?

That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.

Who is the founder of the church of Christ?

Are you asking about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the Church of Jesus Christ? The Church of Jesus Christ is another name for Christianity, and was obviously founded by Jesus Christ. There may of course be individual Christian churches with the name "The Church of Jesus Christ", which were probably started by the pastors or parishoners. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Christian denomination, it is founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ but was started by Joseph Smith.
