In any job there are hazards but as a nursing assistant this is what I have come to notice: * Patients can become hostile or confused and not know what to do, they may try to either hurt you or themselves. * Nurses should always wear gloves when they need to handle any bodily fluids or any chemicals, some nurses forget this and if a patient is bleeding and have a blood carrying viruses and it gets in the nurses' cut they are in danger of getting the virus. * When a patient takes a tumble from standing too much and you are transporting them and walking with them the thing they may land on is you, and you may not be ready and could hurt yourself. * Operating nursing machinery may result in back injury, arm injury or leg injury from improper body mechanics. * When working with patients if they are sick and the sickness is contagious you are at risk of getting it as well.
