Well in the Gospel of John chapter 1 says, " In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." later on in that chapter (possibly #14) it goes on to say, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,..." so you can see that the Word was God and the Word became flesh (as Lord Jesus Christ) and dwelt among us! also in chapter 1 of of Gospel of John (#10) it says, "He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him." Even John the baptist bore the witness of Jesus Christ by crying out loud in the desert (at #15 of chpt 1), "This was he whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me."
so you can tell that Jesus is God form the first chapter of Gospel of John!
The word of god is revealed to us in the scriptures. For example in the old testament the word of God was told to the prophets, and in the new testament we have the word of Jesus.
AnswerChristians say that Jesus came to fulfil the Old Testament. Jews said that Christians did not really understand their ancient scriptures, and that, while a good man, Jesus was not prophesied and was not really sent by God to fulfil the Old Testament.
The Old Testament laid the foundation for the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. The New Testament fulfills the prophecies and promises made in the Old Testament, showing how they are interconnected and part of the overarching narrative of God's plan for humanity. Jesus himself often referenced the Old Testament scriptures to demonstrate how they foretold his arrival and mission.
There are 27 books in the Greek Scriptures (New Testament), and they continued what was started in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) by:**Recording fulfillment of many prophecies from the Old Testament,**Showing how to recognize Messiah when he came, and how Jesus filled this roleThey also:**Recorded Jesus' life and activities while on earth**Set up guidelines for Christian congregations to follow**Recorded the organizing of the preaching work**Explained who Jesus was and what he will do in the future.**Outlined God's purpose for the future of humanity
The difference of the sons of god , in the two testaments are that in the old testament Jesus is the son of god. But in the New Testament we to can be the sons of god . If only we do believe that Jesus died for our sins.
Christianity inherited the Old Testament Scriptures (aka 'the Oracles of God in New Testament) from Judaism, with all that this involves, such as belief in God as the creator, His essential unity. Christians, while holding all these scriptures as their own believe they are fulfilled in Jesus Christ and so some have lost their relevance, particularly the ceremonial laws in Leviticus.
In both the Old and New Testaments, God spoke to Jesus in an audible voice. At Jesus' baptism in the New Testament, God's voice was heard affirming Jesus as His Son. In the Old Testament, on the Mount of Transfiguration, God's voice was also heard confirming Jesus' identity.
A:Perhaps the best proof that Jesus is not the Jewish messiah is that none of the Old Testament scriptures ever refers to Jesus, either by name or in any way that unambiguously identifies him. Christians, from the gospel authors onwards, have sought to link Jesus with various passages in the Hebrew scriptures, but it requires strong faith or willing acceptance to see the parallels. We will not find any Old Testament passages that assert positively that Jesus is not the messiah, simply because the Old Testament was written before Jesus was born; also the notion of a Jewish messiah is largely external to the Old Testament. Of course, if Jesus is the son of God, as Christians assert, then it matters not whether he was the longed-for messiah. However, even this claim must be taken on faith, and faith alone. If you wish to read a Jewish rebuttal for the claim that Jesus is the Messiah, please see the Related Questions linked to below.
