Windows would be good, Windows XP, but nowadays if people use Windows 7. And you know they come in different editions and is that what you mean? Anyway, Home Basic or Home Premium edition is enough for home-usage. But in offices, maybe they use Proffesianal edition or some other better ones. But for netbook computers, you know those tiny ones that explode if you try to run a 3D gmae on it, for those they are just capable for using Windows 7 Starter Edition which is.. bad.
But for some people they use other free OSes such as Ubuntu and otehr Linux based systems. And others use Mac OS X which mostly found on Macbooks and iMacs.
