I could be linux, unix, windows flavour depending upon the the natuire of applicationan and environment.
1.With server OS we can manage desktop OS. Server Os is higher version of Desktop OS. 2.server OS gives centralised administration for users shared resources higher security. But Desktop OS gives local machine administration only. 3.Server OS is fully covered & managed security. For (ex) Domain Controller application server print server etc. We make server with security. for Desktop OS Normal PC. We make low level security.
Yes, you can run a server operating system on desktop PC hardware. Many server OS options, such as Ubuntu Server, Windows Server, or CentOS, are designed to work with standard hardware components commonly found in desktop PCs. However, performance may vary based on the hardware specifications and the demands of the server applications you intend to run. It's important to ensure that the hardware meets the minimum requirements for the server OS you choose.
None really, unless you're talking about virtualisation, which allows you to run multiple OS'ses simultaneously. The advantage of that, is that you can run some, let's say, Windows XP server applications that won't work on Linux, for example. The disadvantage is that it slows your server down a little, as it has an extra OS to take care of. But if you're talking about multi-boot, there are no real advantages, because every time you boot one OS, the other stops functioning, and so do the server applications running for that specific OS. The only advantage I can think of is having a backup OS, when your main OS fails, the server can be fixed easily.. But that's about the only advantage I can think of.
explain client or server OS trends
There is no server side OS available yet.
Different for every C program. For example, linux is an OS-kernel, whilst Apache is a web-server.
Some examples of remote server applications are Windows Server, Solar Winds and PHP. Remote server applications enable remote usage of desktop applications for windows.
Most applications used on the Internet or a local networkare client/server applications. Client applications, such as Internet Explorer, GoogleChrome, or Outlook, communicate with server applications such as a web server oremail server.
You can install a server OS on it.
It is possible to run Mac OS X on a server but it is not legally as the current license tern of Mac OS X server is installing and running on Apple hardware.
The OS is software, but the server is hardware. Pretty simple really.
You have to have server type OS. Almost any server OS can have multi IPs but in different subnets. Try to play with Gateway role in Manage your server.
