The most common site for mesothelioma is the pleura, or the outer lining of the lungs and chest wall. Malignant comes from the root word Mal which means bad, therefore a malignant tumor is a dangerous tumor with the potential to spread. A malignant pleural mesothelioma than is cancer of the lining of the lungs or chest wall which is capable of invading the healthy cell growth.
