All the Legendary Pokemon, Ditto, and a handful of genderless Pokemon cannot make Eggs. Any egg will be the same species as the pre-evolution of its mother (or father, if bred with a Ditto). For example, breeding a female Raichu with produce a Pichu egg, since the evolution line goes like Pichu, to Pikachu, then to Raichu. The exception would be Manaphy. Its eggs are Phione, but it cannot evolve.
