• Bearings - Static Indentation

Motors should be stored in an area free from any source of

vibration since this can cause premature bearing failure due to

static indentation

• Lubrication

Motor bearings are lubricated at the factory for the shelf life of the

grease (approximately 4 years).

• Condensation

Motors should be stored in a warmed, ventilated storage area to

minimize the risk of condensation.

• Motors provided with drain holes

The drain holes should be kept open and clean. In storage the

motors should be stood such that the drain holes are at the lowest

point so that any condensation which does form will escape.

• Motors without drain holes

Provided that the environment is warmed and ventilated, no action

is necessary, although a periodic insulation test is advisable

(approximately every three months) to ensure it is maintained

above 1 megaohm.

If motors are to be used or stored in cold and/or damp

environments, we would recommend the fitting of anticondensation

heaters; the heaters should be permanently

energised if stored in these conditions.

N.B. Heater circuit to be isolated before inspection

What size hp electric motor do you need for a 80 foot boat?

There are no standard electric OUTBOARD motors made for a boat that large. While submarines and sightseeing boats may use electric motors, they are not outboards, and are designed for the hull shape and size. The largest electric outboard I have seen is 3 hp- suitable for a 14 ft boat.

Why are submarines hybrids?

All submarines have at least 2 methods of propulsion; with nuclear power, steam generated moves the turbines/main engines, and also makes electricity for battery storage in case of main propulsion failure (electric motor propulsion). A backup Diesel-Generator is also aboard for making electricity if the reactor is down. Diesel-Electric boats run on electric motors (battery powered) submerged, and on their diesel engines while surfaced.

Are all hybrid's electric?

yes the wheels are powered by electric motors and a battery. theres a gas engine in the car that recharges the battery while your driving too. so yes they are all electric They do not have to be. A Hybrid is a auto that uses two sources of fuel. A gas and diesel combo would be considered a hybrid.

Can you use storage as a verb?

No, the word storage is a noun; the verb is to store (stores, storing, stored). Example:Verb: You will have to store your care while you're away.Noun: You will have to pay for the storage of your car while you're away.

What is Ground Power Unit?

A GPU is a portable electric generator unit that is designed to be connected to an aircraft while it is parked on the ground with its engines off to provide the electricity needed to run its systems. GPUs are typically driven by either gasoline or diesel motors.

How magnets are used in motors?

The alternator does. It is what keeps your battery charged while in use.

Does the processor uses permanent storage sometimes called secondary storage to hold both data and instructions while it is processing them?

False, the processor does not use permanent storage to hold both data and instructions while it is processing them. The processor uses temporary storage to hold data and instructions.
