The record for the longest stay on the International Space Station is held by a Russian cosmonaut. Sergei Avdeyev earned the record by staying aboard for just over 747 days.

Mir holds the record for the longest continuous manned presence, at only 8 days short of ten years, and was operated for a total length of twelve and a half years of its fifteen year lifespan.
