Although commonly mistaken, Darkspine does not control or conduct fire. During his battle with Al-Layla-Wa-Layla (translating to 1,001 and defined as "god" in the Arabian Nights), Darkspine only has increased power compared to earlier gameplay. In the end of the game, he uses the power of the World Rings (which supposedly are from another dimension but control the one he was presently in) to return the world of the Arabian Nights book to its original form before Alf-Layla-Wa-Layla distorted it. This did not return the book to its original structure, though. Darkspine Sonic is highly focused in hand-to-hand combat skills, and takes a particular advantage in his speed, as well as the power generated by the World Rings.
