There area little over 850 Hydroelectric Power plants in the United States
There were 104 commercial nuclear power plants operating in the United States as of 2009.
The US has 77 geothermal power plants (2010 figures), leading the world with an installed capacity of 3086 megawatts (MW).Most are in the Western states, with California the clear leader, with many power stations around The Geysers, north of San Francisco. Other notable states are Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico and Oregon.
United States companies that specialize in electric generator repair are state owned power plants. These include plants such as Georgia Power or Florida Power and Light Company.
