A lot of species of plants are sensitive to Ultra Violet-B. For example, when rice is exposed to UV radiation the plants are smaller.http://www.pnuma.org/ozone/English/Ozone%20Sciences.php?menusup=9&menuinf=7
Ultraviolet light will damage, and potentially kill plants. The light waves within the visible spectrum are the best, so while sunlight isn't perfect (due to the UV rays), it's probably the best thing short of a lamp (especially since it won't cost you anything). There are some UV resistant plants, but after doing some of my own research online, they seem to be few and far between.
20 to 25 degree Celsius is optimum temperature for plant growth
they can but they might die
i actually need to know the answer too.
heat. uv rays and ir rays
The O-zone layer protects us from UV rays emitted from the sun.
No. Heat from the sun is not what causes tan it is the ultraviolet rays similar to the rays that cause skin cancer. The reason heat is asoociated with them is that usually when the sun is bright enough that the UV rays are causing a tan infrared rays are also causing you to feel hot. This is why a bright sun on a cool day is very dangerous. The UV rays are still reaching the skin but as they are undetectable and there is no heat warning the skin that the sun is bright you are more likely to allow yourself to stay in the sun too long and burn.No.
Not in my opinion, although I have not tried the experiment for myself!Plants use the energy from light to photosynthesize, and I do not believe the levels of radiation (UV) would affect this. However, if a window garden is what you're after, it might be wise to play it safe and not use the window with UV protection anyway.
That way the water doesn't get absorbed through the leaves first off and also to block some harmful UV rays
Your plants should still grow if UV rays are blocked.?æ Greenhouse panels are designed to block UV blocking filters, and they grow plants well.
UV rays affect vegetables. They alter their chemical composition.
UV light helps plants grow healthier and quicker. It is not required though for most plants to grow and survive.
Plants are affected by UV rays. Some of them die in their presence.
From the Sun's UV rays (which practically means "sunlight").
You need to protect yourself from UV-B rays. Those are very harmful.
Ozone (O3) which is found in the high stratosphere, has the ability to absorb UV rays which are harmful to plants and animals on earth.
Ozone depletion makes UV enter the earth. Plants die on coming in contact with UV rays.
yerrr
Plants on earth are affected by UV rays. They are fatal rays of the sun.
You need a Varnish with UV inhibitors.
== == Several studies have found that UV lights are quite toxic to plants.
