Could plants and animals survive if decomposition didn't occur?

Decomposition is the process of some fungi breaking down the dead organism into nutrients for the plants to use. Actually, plants and animals wil still survive, even if decomposition or fungi does not exist. The nutrients is optional, only helping the plant to grow better and produce for food for the animals.

Organism that decompose dead organism and ablsor absorm nutrients are from which kingdom?

Fungi because Fungi are heterotrophic organisms that obtain their nutrients from the organic matter of dead plants and animals. They break down the dead plant and animal matter and so are also categorized as decomposers.

In the two kingdom system why were fungi classified in the kingdom Plantae?

Fungi were initially classified in the kingdom Plantae due to their superficial similarities, such as non-motile growth and cell wall composition. However, they were later reclassified into their own kingdom, Fungi, based on genetic and molecular similarities that distinguish them from plants. Fungi are heterotrophic organisms that obtain nutrients through absorption, unlike plants which are autotrophic.

What characteristic did whit taker use to distinguish the kingdom fungi from the kingdom animalia?

Whittaker distinguished the kingdom Fungi from the kingdom Animalia based on the mode of nutrition. Fungi are heterotrophic organisms that obtain their nutrients from decaying organic matter or by parasitizing other living organisms, while animals are also heterotrophic but obtain their nutrients by ingesting food.
