The keys have no special chip inside them. They are purely a cut metal. HOWEVER, it is important to note, that the ignition lock is EXTREMELY sensitive, and a copy that is a fraction of a millimeter off will not allow the ignition to turn. It is best to get a copy made from the dealer
The Uncoded - 2010 was released on: USA: 2010
Yes it is. It is coded with a transponder.
coded key, wrong chip code, or key that hasn't been coded. Call a dealer, he will set it up
dealer it,s a coded key works with a transponder in system
No. I recently had my key break off in the ignition in a 2004 Kia Sedona. I had a locksmith remove it and make replacement keys that he was afraid might be coded because of the large size but after making 2 new spares, we discovered they were not coded which would have caused the engine to shut down after a few seconds. I can;t speak for all model years but in 2004 they were not coded. I Have A 2004 Kia Sedona The Key Code Is Y7401
The cast of The Uncoded - 2010 includes: Kat Bartlett Cuyle Carvin as Alex Albert Glassman Phil Godeck
dealership it needs to be coded for that vehicle
If you are using the original coded key with the security sensor in it your battery may need replacing (in the key), now if you are using a copy of the coded key ...bad news it won't work because it doesn't have the code programed into it.

Assuming you have the key that is computer-coded to bypass the alarm, you put it in the lock and turn it. If you don't have a key, see the related question.
