If the bunny is not used to being handled, it may bite. Also, if a bunny has been improperly handled in the past, it may be meaner. It will take time getting the bunny used to being handled and gaining its trust before it stops. Sit somewhere quiet like the couch. Hold it for as long as it will tolerate. If it wants down, let it down onto the cushion, but continue to pet it a bit. Let it run back and forth a bit so it knows you aren't trying to trap it. Pet it when in comes to you. It will eventually start to chill out.
