Queen Ankhesenamun was the wife of Tutankhamun. Tutankhamun overturned the monotheist heresy of his father, Amenhotep IV (aka Akhenaten), by changing the last syllable of he and his wifes names from "aten" to "amun" (Tutankh-aten and Ankhesenpa-aten). Apologies, I cannot guarantee the correct spelling of Pharoahs names.

Queen Ankhesenamun ("Her life belongs to Amun") was the third daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti; she married her half-brother Tutankhamun.

Her mummy has not been identified, although it is possibly one of two found recently in tomb KV21.

Ancient Egyptian portrait art was much influenced by the styles and conventions of the time, meaning that it was not always an accurate representation of the person, but her images in art show a typically sharp-featured young woman with a lean figure, large eyes, small chin and tan or olive-coloured skin. She is shown as shorter than Tutankhamun (but this may simply be a mark of respect to the pharaoh) and she is always shown wearing a transparent, pleated linen dress, gold sandals, a blue wig cover with various royal crowns.

She certainly looked nothing like her namesake in Hollywood's dreadful "Mummy" films, since the actress is a South American Indian woman!!!!!
