Sulfuric and nitric acids.
Water-soluble, nonmetallic oxides, can be attacked by alkalies and, in aqueous solution, they form acids; so they are called acidic oxides. Some examples include:Sulfuric, and other sulfurous acids, from oxides of sulfur,Nitric, and other nitrous acids, from oxides of Nitrogen,Phosphoric, and other phosphorous acids, from oxides of Phosphorous
carbohydrates, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus
Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide which contributes to global warming.Burning coal emits harmful wastes such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphuric acids, arsenic and ash. These cause acid rain.My answer is it causes air pollution, that turns into acid rain and smog. (smoke and fog)
carbon nitrogen oxygen and hydrogen some amino acids have sulfur
Amino acids are made up of the elements nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, and sulfur. Proteins are made up of amino acids.
sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides
Sulfur oxides from the combustion of sulfur containing fuels for atmospheric sulfurous and sulfuric acid. Nitrogen oxides form nitrous and nitric acids.
acidic gases - e.g. oxides of non-metals - so oxides of sulfur and nitrogen will form acids
Sulfur oxides combine with water to produce sulfuric acid but not nitro acids. Nitro acids are a product of nitrogen oxides reacting with water.
Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids.
Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides both react with water in the atmosphere to form acids, sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
It is an acidic gas. When dissolved in water it produces the acid, sulphurous acid (H2SO3) Remember the oxides of non-metals produce acids. Oxides of metals produce bases/alkalis. Other non-metallic oxides that produce acids are Carbon dioxide = carbonic acid Nitrogen dioxide = nitrous acid. Phosphorux oxides = phosphoric acids. et. seq.,
Pollution. More specifically, "Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids."
In solution, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides form sulfuric acid and nitric acid, respectively. These acids are found in acid rain, where the gaseous compounds become dissolved in falling rain.
Acid rain is what causes damage, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides and carbon oxides (carbon dioxide) react and dissolve in the water droplets of clouds, forming acids like sulfuric (H2SO4) acid carbonic (H2CO3) acid and nitric acid (HNO3).
Rain is naturally somewhat acidic (pH 5.5) due to carbon dioxide dissolved in the water. Problem acid rain also has dissolved sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides which form sulphurous and nitrous acids.
I think it is Nitrogen Oxide. The nitrous oxide condenses with the rain to give the nitric acid, sulfur dioxide condenses with the rain to give sulfuric acid, carbon dioxide combines with the rain to give carbonic acid . These three acids constitute the acid rain.
