That depends on the agent. READ THE LABEL CAREFULLY, and FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Most will give remedies. Some will tell you to induce vomiting (a good reason to keep ipecac syrup in a first aid kit); others will advise against it. (Some substances do more harm coming back up.) Also contact your local poison control center (the number will be in the phone book, usually on the front pages) as soon as possible.
