An aquatic ecosystem or nearby waterway causes rapid and overabundant growth of algae.
it can be A)The ecosystem will not be able to support as many tertiary consumers. B)It will decrease the amount of energy transferred to higher trophic levels. C)The ecosystem will be able to support more organisms at higher trophic levels.Eliminate D)The ecosystem will become stagnant due to excess producers and organisms in higher trophic levels will die out.

Nitrogen gas is unnecessary. It is not using in the photosynthesis.
Along with other nutrients, excess nitrogen within the Chesapeake Bay causes algal blooms. These blooms severely depletes the quality of the water creating unsuitable living conditions for many organisms.

Sponges are important in nutrient cycles in coral reef systems. Scientists believe they may be important factors to changes in water quality, whether good or bad. Scientists analyze how fast sponges breathe and the amount of nitrogen they release while doing so. Sponges collect bacteria when they filter the water around them. These bacteria are believed to be able to do many things. First, these bacteria may be able to create forms of nitrogen from the nitrogen gas in the water that may be nutritional for the sponge. They may also be able to turn ammonium from the sponge's breathing into nitrogen gas that is then released into the atmosphere. This process would lower excess nitrogen levels in coral reefs, also preventing harmful ecosystem changes. Scientists believe that the conversion of nitrogen gas into useful nitrogen is also beneficial to the survival of other organisms in the area. They are hoping to have discovered a pathway for the removal of excess nitrogen from coral reefs.
It is bad for them.
No
Acid rain is caused by which of the following? excess carbon dioxide deforestation nitrogen compounds in the air nitrogen compounds in the soil Help me please
Nitrogen has no effect on water although it can be dissolved. Nitrogen is not hazardous in itself, and in water is not dangerous. However as your body has no use for it when breathed, it can asphyxiate. But in water it has no effect on large biological organisms. High nitrogen content can cause algal blooms in surface areas of water. However, nitrogen can be processed into nitrates by bacteria which can kill fish. Excess nitrogen is removed by humans through urea.
