I can't give you an exact answer. Maybe calling a vet's office may help. I do know that it seems as though the number's climbing though. MY dog passed away from cancer this last year and before that, I don't think I ever had a reason to even give that a consideration as a possible cause of death.

%7.0863689 This is a rough estimate of course. This depends on the breed, age and seeing capabilities of the dog of course and whether or not it has suffered any trauma to the eye region of the face. While checking the eye region of the face, note the mouth region of the face and ensure it doesn't bite your face. Then you'll both be blind and then no good can come from that. If you would like some intelligent information, there is a website (seriously) that does have good resources and info about our blind k-9's. They are actually wonderful dogs. In fact a blind dog typed this response. http://www.blinddogs.net/ http://blinddog.info/blinddoghelp.htm http://www.blinddogs.com/ While I know that there is no exact percentage on these sites they really do offer fantastical resources and ideas and tips as well as help to find a blind dog a home and how to care for one. Thank you for your post. You're welcome.

A dog can go blind at any age, but it is more prevalent as they get older. Some breeds are particularly susceptible to cataracts.
