It's obvious you are English with the word 'pram' (Canadians call them baby buggies.) LOL Usually when the child can walk the prams are not used, but then you put them in what we call a 'stroller' with a hood on it to keep the sun off them. Because we can get quite a bit of rain in our spring months in British Columbia many mothers have plastic that covers the front of the stroller to protect the child. Strollers can be folded up and are very light weight. It's nice if you are shopping or at a fun event and your little one gets sleepy and you can simply unfold the stroller and put your child in it to rest. That beats carrying them around all the time and leaves your hands free.
