American Airlines
Most likely not since there is not a high enough demand for there to be a nonstop flight from LAX to Providenciales. It is just too far for a nonstop, so it is serviced by closer airports like MIA, SJU, ATL, etc...

No. Most airlines use a "Hub" system, which means that all the nonstop flights are either to or from a "Hub", and then you need to change planes and take another nonstop flight from the Hub to your destination. Sometimes you even have to change planes 3 or 4 times to get where you're going. For example, American Airlines hubs are primarily Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Chicago's Ohare (ORD), Raleigh/Durham (RDU) and St.Louis (STL). Also some others can be considered hubs, like Los Angeles (LAX), New York's JFK, and Miami (MIA). You're likely to change planes in one of these hubs, if you fly American Airlines. But this is true on most airlines, although the hub cities will be different. You're not going to find a nonstop flight unless you happen to be flying to or from one of the airline's hub cities.
From JFK you can get it from 256USD one-way, and from MIA 215USD one-way.
