if they still have upper body strength then bring them a low sitting stool. and just allow them to pull them selves up. then from the lower stool get a taller chair or stool and they will pull themselves on that and taller and taller then get them sitting in a walker or wheelchair. i dont know how you would carry them or pick them up, but this is what we did for my grandpa towards the end. hope this help.
