To be an Astronomer firstly you will need to have a deep interest in the subject. on top of that you will need a high scoring qualification in mathematics and science. Armed with these you will need to gain access to a University to study a Batchelors Degree in an astronomy based science. If you gain a first or a 2.1 pass then you will be set to take a Masters degree and if you wish later on a PhD.
You can drop out of this education path at any time but if you do, it is unlikely that you will be employed professionally as an Astroscientist.
