In modern times, if any animal eats a human, its by mistake or they are VERY hungry. Maybe the human could have harmed the animal.
No animal eats humans as their primary food, because simply there are too many humans and animals have been denied hunting territory to hunt humans.
Bears, big cats, wild dogs, wolfs, huge sharks, alligators -- most any carnivore, and some snakes have all been known to kill and eat humans over history. Dingo dogs in Australia have been known to drag babies away from their families and kill them.
