Bachman's Warbler is a bird that is thought to be extinct in Alabama. Alabama is home to other endangered and threatened species, such as the Bald Eagle.

The nearly extinct ivory billed woodpecker once was found there, as was the extinct Carolina parakeet. The bald eagle is found there in numbers, as it is no longer an endangered bird.
