The Hexapoda subphylum has a couple classes, Insecta with all the insects, and Class Entognatha, which have mouthparts retracted into the head; below which are significantly smaller wingless groups: Collembola, Protura, and Diplura. Some of these groups were formerly classified under Insecta.
Partly based on recent research, there is still debate about classes under hexapoda, some models will show up to four sub groups including those of uncertain classification.
The hexapoda subphylum containing the insecta class is the largest with around a million described arthropod species.
Animals. They're in the Arthropod phylum and the Insect class.
The phylum of the class Hexapoda is Arthropoda. Hexapoda refers to insects, which are characterized by having six legs. Arthropods are a diverse group of invertebrates with jointed limbs and a hard exoskeleton.
Hornets with their jointed limbs and chitinous exoskeletons are most definitely arthropods, under Arthropoda's subphylum Hexapoda, along with all other insects.
Insects belong to the class Insecta in the phylum Arthropoda.
0; insects are all classified within Class Hexapoda.
The largest arthropod subphylum is Hexapoda. By count the most arthropod species fall under the Insecta class, with a million species described and millions estimated yet to be described. By count, insects are over half of all living animals and by some estimates may constitute up to ninety percent of all living animals on the earth. In biomass, krill take the top spot weighing in from up to half to three quarters of a billion tonnes, and thus having a huge significance in the food chain.
Scorpionsare predatory arthropod animals of the order Scorpioneswithin the class Arachnida. Each type of scropion has a different name.
Arthropods - Hexapoda (six-legged animals) - Insecta - Hymenoptera (membrane-wings) - Apocrita (wasps, bees and ants). Though technically their class is Insecta, I went a bit too far. ;)
Hexapoda is the scientific name for a group of animals that's mainly insects (Insecta) but also a few others such as springtails that are nearly insects but not quite. Hexa = six, poda = legs!
