In India, armies used war elephants as tanks due to their size, strength, and ability to intimidate enemies in battle. In Cambodia, the armies used war elephants as well as water buffalo, camels, and even rhinoceroses in some instances for their strength and ability to carry heavy loads or weaponry into battle.
