There are in fact many species of plants that eat small animals. They are called carnivorous, or sometimes insectivorous plants. The following are the traps used by these plants: Pitfall traps- Leaves folded into deep, slippery pools filled with enzymes that digest their prey. Flypaper- Leaves covered in stalked glands that ooze out a sticky substance that traps it's prey. Snap traps- Hinged leaves that snap shut when the plant's trigger hairs are touched. Suction traps- (Only bladderworts use this kind of trap) highly modified leaves shaped like a bladder with a hinged door lined with trigger hairs. They have an empty space, or vacuum inside the trap, and when it opens, it sucks in whatever is around the trap. The trap is triggered when the trigger hairs are touched. Lobster-pot traps- twisted tubular channels that are lined with hair and glands. Names of some carnivorous plants are: - Venus Flytrap - Sundew plant - Bladderwort - Cobra lily - Pitcher plant -And a lot more!..
