Sense a lot of forest floors don't have a good amount of underbrush many of the animals are going to be ones that can rely on the trees for survival. Things like raccoons, jaguars, and bears can climb for food but other things live porcupines and deer make due with what they can find on the ground, and of course you'll have your assortment of insects.
