Chichen Itza is the name of an abandoned Mayan City in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Unlike a number of other Mayan Cities, it was still occupied when the Spanish conquered the area. It is an important archaeological site. It has features of both Mayan and Aztec culture.
