Yes it is possible to manually remove a trojan (or any virus as a fact), but it takes experience and lots of patience. Manually removing trojans are tricky because most they disguise themselves as legitimate programs and some can task kill antivirus processes so they remain undetected for a long time. I would suggest to just let your antivirus do the work.
