Xylem may be made up of tracheids and vessel elements.
Phloem - carries nutrients (particularily sugar) and xylem - carries water and some nutrients
Xylem, Phloem, Cambium are the 3 main structures of vascular plants forrealzys
Xylem and phloem. The xylem transports water and soluble mineral nutrients from the roots throughout the plant. The phloem is the living tissue that carries organic nutrients.
Xylem and phloem are the two components that make up the veins of a plant. Xylem is responsible for transporting water and minerals from the roots to the rest of the plant, while phloem transports sugars and other organic compounds produced through photosynthesis to various parts of the plant.
1. Centripetal xylem 2. Centrifugal xylem both types are involved in conduction
The two main tissues that make up a plant root are the xylem and the phloem. Xylem tissue is responsible for transporting water and minerals from the roots to other parts of the plant, while phloem tissue is responsible for transporting sugars produced by photosynthesis from the leaves to other parts of the plant.
Transports water and nutrients upwards
The xylem carries water and minerals throughout the plant
What carries the water and minerals from root to the leaf are known as something called vascular bundles. These consist of 2 which are the xylem and the phloem. Both of these transport either food up then leaf (phloem) and the xylem carries the water up the stem. Cheers

Xylem vessels have several adaption that make them better for transporting water rather than tracheids. The adaptions ensure that water meets less resistance in xylem vessels. Adaptions: 1. No nucleus. 2. End walls of each cell is broken down, leaving a clear path. 3. The secondary cell wall is composed of cellulose and lignin making the sides impermeable to water. Please note that Xylem vessels consists of dead cells. . 1st year A - Level biology student.
