Poly saccharides, monosaccharides and di/oglio saccharides.

Polysaccharides are usually called starch, like from potatoes and grains

Monosaccharides are usually sweet like fructose, glucose, Dextrose, etc

Di/ogliosaccharides are usually called simple sugars, however sometimes they are as that is sometimes reserved for monosaccharides. They are also often sweet, and examples include sucrose and lactose.

Most carbohydrate groupings are broken down further into poly, di, oglio and mono saccharides.
